An invited group of tyre retailers got the opportunity last week to track test Goodyear’s new EfficientGrip tyre range at Mondello Park, Naas, Co. Kildare.
Goodyear used the occasion to unveil the EfficientGrip Performance, and the EfficientGrip Compact in a number of small sizesm which effectively achieves its target of offering a range of tyres to suit all European road car needs.
From the EfficientGrip SUV, introduced last year to serve the larger car market, through to the Performance, Goodyear now meets a significant percentage of Europe’s total car park needs in HP and UHP with a single branded product.
The EfficientGrip Performance will, when fully rolled out, deliver some 68 sizes, of which 28 in UHP, ranging from 15 to 18 inch. For winter, the company is increasingly focusing on its UtraGrip range to establish a similar role.
The growth of the EfficientGrip range does not discount any other tyres currently on the market, but it does replace a number of older technologies such as Excellence, Eagle NCT5, and Duragrip. The new range, under a single product name, is designed to bring more clarity and a clear design line to Goodyear’s summer offering. EfficientGrip Performance is currently available in 39 sizes and comes with a BA EU-label rating in 21 of the 23 sizes.
