Bridgestone Europe has added revolutionary all-electric BMW i3 vehicles to its fleet clearly underlining the company’s faith in this concept of sustainable mobility. Vehicle charging points at Bridgestone’s European headquarters near Brussels were officially made operational on 9th May with AlphaElectric, a comprehensive electric-vehicle fleet solution from Alphabet.
“Bridgestone and Alphabet share the same vision of sustainable mobility and this logically brought both companies together to support the deployment of the all-electric BMW i3” says Franco Annunziato, CEO and President, Bridgestone Europe.
Bridgestone’s choice of the BMW i3 is guided by the company’s commitment to a sustainable society, established in a long-term environmental policy focused on ecological conservation, resource conservation and reduction of CO2 emissions.
Bridgestone, the world’s largest tyre manufacturer, was selected by the BMW Group as a sole supplier to develop a range of tyres for the i3 electric vehicle. Exploiting ologic technology which capitalises on the synergies of a large diameter coupled with a narrow tread, Bridgestone developed a unique solution – the Ecopia EP500 ologic tyre – delivering highly efficient performance in aerodynamics, rolling resistance and safety.
AlphaElectric is a product of leasing company Alphabet, a leading provider of business mobility in Europe. “Initiatives like the one from Bridgestone support our vision and are a major contribution to the acceptance of sustainable mobility solutions”, says Jan van Roon, Managing Director Alphabet Belgium.
