100 tyre fitters now have ATA Accreditation

Over 100 candidates have now completed the Irish Tyre Industry Association’s (ITIA) accreditation programme. This ATA Accreditation is offered to ITIA members and is facilitated by the Institute of the Motor Industry trainer, David O Neill.

“Our aim is that each retail member will have at least one permanent member of staff accredited,” ITIA President Kevin Farrell commneted.

He added: “The ITIA candidates who have achieved ATA Accreditation, have scored highly, showing clearly that the skills level for tyre technicians among our retail members is well above average. This independently assessed accreditation gives retailers the security that their staff have been assessed and approved as proficient tyre professionals.”

He continued: ‘This programme allows retailers to distinguish ourselves as being independently accredited to be reputable and competent in our industry. In raising the bar on standards we aim to make ITIA members the ‘go to experts’ in the tyre retail trade.”

He continued: “With so many traders on the black economy, we urgently need to act and I am heartened to see so many retailers supporting our efforts to combat non – compliant traders by combining their strength to work together to improve standards.”

There is a final date for spring Accreditation is Monday 24th March, in Dublin. To book a technician onto this day call Anne Marie on 086 773 96 66 or email info@itia.ie
