Claudia Schiffer has been hired to help sell Opels.
Her global appeal has ensured an internationally successful career spanning over 25 years.
Originally from the Rhineland, Schiffer now slips into her next role as the German face of Opel in Europe.
She is taking centre stage in the new campaign called 'It's a German'.
Opel Chief Marketing Officer Tina Müller said: "The campaign puts across those modern German values that have also been appreciated internationally.
"Today, Opel stands for the perfect German art of engineering, an emotional design and an unbeatable price-value relationship.
"With Claudia Schiffer we were able to win a German world star who fully identifies with the brand."
Schiffer is certainly on message as Opel's new brand ambassador: "We filmed the first commercial in mid-December. The new Opel models stand for great German engineering as well as innovation and practicality.
"The Meriva with its rear-hinged rear doors is unique and a first for Opel. It is fantastic for families like mine."
