Consumers Association of Ireland awards top 'Choice Buy' status to ContiPremiumContact 5

The Consumers Association of Ireland's online magazine, 'Consumer Choice' recently published a tyre road test with the best recommendations for when it comes to replacing tyres on a car, with excellent results for Continental Tyres.

The road tests focused on two of the most common tyre sizes: 185 / 60 R14 as fitted to superminis and medium-sized cars (VW Polo, Fiat Punto, Honda Civic, Skoda Fabia etc.) and 205 / 55 R16 as fitted to medium-sizes cars and MPVs (Renault Megane, Opel Astra, Ford Focus, Seat Leon, VW Golf).

In the first test for the 185 / 60 R14 the Association awarded its top marks to Continental's ContiPremiumContact 5 tyre after a stringent regime of tests and gave it the Association's no. 1 'Choice Buy' status, stating: "the Continental is a great all round tyre providing excellent handling on dry roads and was judged to be the best overall performer in the wet, with very good braking capabilities in all conditions... these are very fuel efficient tyres that should last a long time on your car".

In the larger tyre size: 205 / 55 R 16, the association gave the ContiPremiumContact 5 tyre a 'Choice Buy' status stating: "The ContiPremiumContact 5 demonstrated excellent handling, braking and stability on dry surfaces... on wet roads, these Continental tyres were also great at handling and braking and coped easily with the aquaplaning tests where other tyres struggled".

The ContiPremiumContact 5 is designed for medium-sized and luxury cars and the tyre reflects the substantial advances made by the engineers at Continental in terms of aquaplaning performance, steering precision, driving stability and rolling noise.  The tyre is approved for original equipment fitting on a wide range of cars.

Scott Benbow, Product Marketing Manager at Continental said; "We are delighted to have been commended by Consumer Choice. The ContiPremiumContact 5 reiterates our leading position for safety and these awards further support our strong product offerings."
