Bridgestone is showcasing its Total Tyre Car Programme at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014 in Hanover, Germany this week.
Bridgestone’s 300 square metre two-level stand is themed on the company’s renewed Total Tyre Care programme: a cost- and time-saving tyre solution for fleets.
Fleet operators visiting the stand are guided through the Total Tyre Care offering, invited to see which service level would suit them best, and can inspect some of the latest Bridgestone truck and bus tyres, Bandag retreads and Bridgestone service systems. Visitors are also invited to relax in the corporate corner and find out more about Bridgestone as a company.
Since Bridgestone’s innovative Tyre Pressure Monitoring System was launched in May 2013, over 24,000 sensors have been installed on 36 fleet locations throughout Europe. As such, it is estimated that the system has already resulted in CO2 savings of around 2,000 tonnes, equivalent to 21 fewer trucks on the roads for a full year. TPMS has also succeeded in extending the lifecycle of tyres fitted with the system, equivalent to an extra 210 million kilometres driven, 319 fewer breakdowns and 239 recycled/retreaded casings.
Bridgestone’s already highly successful Total Tyre Care programme has been further enhanced with the addition of three new customised tyre management and maintenance service packages, each adapted to the different needs of its customers. As part of a new comprehensive fleet management strategy being unveiled at IAA, the “Advanced Tyre Monitoring Programme”, “Premium Tyre Maintenance Programme” and “Elite Tyre Management Programme” will provide fleet owners with effective solutions to manage tyre-related costs, maximise their value and thereby reduce the total cost of ownership of their tyres throughout their entire lifetime.
ToolBox is a powerful yet user-friendly package of software-based solutions for tyre fleet management. By enabling the comprehensive and accurate collection, analysis and reporting of a wide range of tyre management data, ToolBox significantly boosts productivity while identifying opportunities to reduce costs.
Every new car in the European Union will have to be fitted with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) after November 1. As a result, workshops will have to check that the TPM system is functioni...
