Continental focuses on Innovations for maximum Grip at Geneva

Continental has chosen the motto “Innovations for maximum Grip” for the Geneva Motor Show this week and highlight on its stand include the new Conti.eContact for hybrid cars as well as a WinterContact TS 850 P with a tread pattern made purely from Dandelion rubber.

The Conti.eContact tyre was originally launched in 2011 with electric vehicles in mind but now it has been refined to meet the needs of hybrid models.

Continental said its in-house studies point to a growing market for hybrids in the future.

The Conti.eContact features a range of newly developed technologies and, the company says, is also the first tyre in the range to obtain the top A label rating on the EU Tyre Label for both wet grip and rolling resistance.

The Continental WinterContact TS 850 P betters the performance of its predecessor model in terms of handling on snow-covered and dry roads as well as braking. This is made possible by the new tread design of the asymmetrical winter tyre for the upper mid-range and luxury segments and SUVs.
